About Us

With over 175 members today, the Texas Lamb Breeders Association continues to grow and support our youth across the state. Starting in the mid 1990's as a discussion among breeders the association was officially formed in 1998.

From the very beginning the TLBA has sponsored lamb shows, sales, and educational events to help our youth.  We have given numerous scholarships and are now partnered with the San Antonio Livestock Show and the Texas Lamb Validation Committee to give four $2,000 scholarships and two $10,000 scholarships each year during the Sheep Skill-A-Thon at the San Antonio Show.

The TLBA has been major sponsors at the Star of Texas Show in Austin and is currently a major sponsor of the San Angelo Livestock Show and Rodeo. This past year we were able to give nearly $74,000 in special premiums to our youth through scholarships, breeder recognition premiums, and sponsorship of shows.

Over the past 12 years we have rewarded exhibitors with over a quarter million dollars. These rewards were given to exhibitors through special premiums at the Fort Worth Livestock Show, San Antonio Livestock Show, San Angelo Livestock Show, Houston Livestock Show and the Star of Texas Fair.

We invite you to be a part of the TLBA.  If you need more information, don’t hesitate to call the Association office at (325)429-6249.
